Ever get the feeling that the author is merely writing the same book over and over again, just formatting it differently?
Got that feeling with Diary, Haunted, Rant... and now, Snuff.
To quote the Talking Heads, "...same as it ever was..."
Good for fanboys. Not so good for people wanting to actually read a novel.

I loved it!! One of my favorite Palahniuk stories. It's worth the read for the Porn titles alone.
He knows the rules and breaks the rules for a unique descriptive experience. Surprisingly deep for what you would expect it to be.
There's a "look how shocking I can be" element, but it works? There were parts of it that really hit me emotionally that could not have touched the nerve they did without some of the more graphic parts.
Honestly a book I'd pick up again.

So, yeah... this book's not for everyone, but it's pure Palahniuk. Get distracted by the subject matter and you're going to miss out on some fine story-telling. Snuff shares a bit of the 'event-driven narrative' of [book:Haunted] but stays concise and focused. You'll also spot the multiple-narrator approach of books like [book:Rant]. Funny, clever and a bit scary. Recommended to Palahniuk fans, but probably not the best entry-point to his work.

Excuse me, while I reconnect with nature really quick... O_o
It is hard to say anything about this book, but if you want some kind of foreshadowing, let it be this:
A (C)orn-Star trying to make a world record by sleeping with 600 Men in one shoot, is the mildest of the twist and turns in this book.
I could not put it away, for the sure absurdety alone.

I first read this years and years ago when I was much too young and had no business reading a book like this. I wanted to read it again to confirm if the content was as bat-shit insane as I remembered, and yes my memory was shockingly good.
