I like sex.
I like weird shit.
I like behind the scenes.

This book had those but tried to throw in a more "deep" story. I could do without that and would have rated it better.

Such a cool cover but meh, the book wasn’t for me!

I’m probably just not this author’s target audience.

The plot based off of the excerpt on the back seemed so interesting to me:

“An aging adult-film star, Cassie intends to cal her career by breaking the world record for serial fortification by having sex with 600 men on camera - one of whom may want to kill her”

I love a woman in the sex industry who has a goal and bosses her way to get it!!

But…I felt that I didn’t get enough of her. I wanted chapters in her POV and we didn’t get any.

All chapters were in the POV of characters waiting in the porn-movie production green room…

All of which were not my fave characters at all

Palahniuk is the master of the grotesque. Snuff wasn't my favorite book of his, but it was more than enjoyable. I laughed out loud at the fictional porno flick names. It's not often that you come across a book that it's in present tense and only covers a few hours' time, so it was intriguing and impressive in that regard. The plot is imaginative and toes the line between absurd and believable that only a storyteller like Palahniuk could pull off.

This was a very strange book. I read it in Dutch, but that did not diminish its power as very provocative. Still, it drew me on - the world described was quite fascinating in a way. The end gave no real closure, but it suited the rest of the storyline quite well. It's a critique on the porn industry, yet it's not judging or boring. It is one big anecdote to show the reader how completely ridiculous the industry and the people in it are.

Meh.

Bizarre, prurient, twisted, stomach-turning, and a perversion of literature; in other words, an absolute blast of a novel that delivers a money shot you'll never forget.

super honestly, not sure what I’ve just read. It was entertaining, incredibly taboo, and genuinely disgusting. but interesting and fast paced nonetheless??? Genuinely so gross don’t know how to feel

My absolute favorite of his so far. He's just an incredible writer.
