The more I read Agatha Christie, the more I understand, why she is still the most sold (crime) author. She always manages to create an exciting and thrilling plot with interesting characters and never misses to combine horror with beauty and comedy. I very much enjoyed the murder mystery in this novel and felt a lot with some of the characters. The ending was, as usual, a remarkable surprise (and somehow dissapointing, because I was rooting for one of the "evil characters"). The only thing, that hindered me from rating this with the full 5 stars was the fact that the story began rather slowly. However, in the end, I could not put the book down.

I enjoyed this, the characters of Frankie and Bobby are fun to follow.

Definite shades of Tommy and Tuppence, Seven Dials, and other standalones where the plucky heroine and steadfast hero go off sleuthing in a charming adventure. One of the few Agathas where I have easily predicted the ending—perhaps because I’ve now read so many that I’m familiar with Christie’s tendency for the competing live interests to turn out to be the villains, and for men to be taken in by a faux-damsel in distress. At this point, I never trust someone’s identity unless it has been corroborated by at least six people.

The precursor to Tommy and Tuppence, I presume?
