I am writing here to Commission to having my death written about in a similar manner. There is wonder and a deep appreciation of the culture and beliefs of this town. This isn’t a story about the gores and details of a killing, but the particular social circumstances that allowed such a well advertised death threat to go unhampered.

love! short and sharp. His prose is so beautiful but also very tight so I was reading the next crazy line after just getting over the last. I was getting a bit lost sometimes with exit and entrances to the house randomly. that was my only issue.
i’ve yet to *truly* enjoy a gabriel garcía márquez book. first, until august. now this. what is wrong with me??? everyone seems to be raging about one hundred years of solitude, but like... dua lipa had it in her photo dumps for months, and even she didn’t look like she finished it. that kind of intimidation does something to a girl.
it’s not that this book was bad. and it’s not like the synopsis misled me—i knew santiago was gonna die from the first chapter. it’s literally in the title. and what followed was everyone else’s perspective before, during and after the murder. i just... wasn’t as into it as i hoped. maybe my brain is just wired to connect better with female authors?? (pls don’t come for me.)
but also... fuck all men. virginity is a social construct.

Tenia ue haber leido este libro hace 2 o 3 años por el colegio y nunca lo hice por mi constante flojera. Recien lo lei y chcha, desde ue vi el resumen para el examen de comunicacion me enojaba el final de Santiago Nasar y leerlo solo me hizo sentirlo más. El estilo esta hermoso pero pta hay varias palabras ue no entendia y estaba con google abierto cada ue lo leia.
