I love these three and I'm willing to give every star I can give.

this was a big leap from the last book so i can’t blame katee for giving it a shot and doing something unique. the premise is cool! we follow the same three from the series, now-king theo and his consorts, meg and galen. i like throuples and think it’s an interesting conflict when there’s a 1-2 power imbalance like this, kind of like american queen by sierra simone. but… SO much of this book was spent complaining about their shitty situation and just dealing with it! none of them were happy for most of this book, and then the climax was super rushed and uninteresting. i still really liked these characters, and the idea was there, but the execution didn’t do it for me. 😵‍💫

I haven't laughed so much reading a book in a long time. This was great! It tackled the struggles of their relationship very well - there were reality checks I did not see coming, and they were good. Heartwarming moments, funny moments. Just a great read.

Couple of things though. Every time Galen or Theo referred to themselves as "friends" I was filled with the rage of a thousand suns. THAT IS YOUR BOYFRIEND. Also
Dorian's intentions were a bit confusing - are you doing all this to hurt Galen because you're mad, or to help him for more power in the family? Also, need more insight on the mother, because why you let your husband beat your son like that growing up? And with the whole poison thing, are you insinuating that Dorian killed Theo's parents? I just needed a little bit more nuance to his character. Plus his defeat  was rushed - if you could freeze his accounts this whole time, why not do that from the beginning??
Still, the book was very enjoyable!

Loved every minute of it. Would have loved to read a more longer epilogue.
Definitely definitely a must read. Smut with a happily ever after written in a perfect combination.
