A cute version of the tale, not sure how well it fits with the tune though. It could be my poor musical skills.
An interesting take on the classic tale - and one that works for the spring storytimes and programs where we plant seeds and talk about what a garden needs to grow! Let the kids see if they can figure out what might be going on in the old lady's tummy with each new thing she swallows, and see if they're right in the end!
I think I had more fun trying to figure out what connection everything had to Thanksgiving than I did actually reading the book. But it's still fun, and the illustrations are pretty funny. Bonus points for introducing the word "quirky."
4 Stars!
These books are super fun and kids love them! This lady is always swallowing something- its really weird and disturbing to be honest, but the kids GOBBLE it up and laugh! Its a great interactive read to get them excited for the holidays :P

fast-paced
Great for beginner readers and readers that enjoy all of this set.
This style is similar to the rest in the series, but the slight deviations just don't settle as well with me. The interspersed facts are nice, but it really interrupts the flow.
{My thoughts} – This is written in the same style as all the other books. However, instead of an old lady swallowing things it’s an old mermaid. I must admit it is an interesting change in events.
I enjoy these books because they are rather silly. The illustrations always coincide with the words upon the pages. I honestly can’t wait until my 20 month old finds her sense of humor. I’m hoping that she will find these books just as silly as I do. I look forward to when that day comes.
I recommend this book for any child that has a sense of humor, has enjoyed pools in this series before or just likes silly stories. It will make a great addition to their library.
