Nearly a perfect book! The heroine is certainly someone that grows on you (and could possibly be read as neurodivergent), and I suggest this book for anyone struggling to get back into reading, period. I personally believe reading this book helped accelerate my desire to read again this year.

This perfectly captures the feeling of a cozy evening with a warm beverage, fluffy blanket, mellow lights, and of course, a good book. While it stays short and sweet, it also handles heavier themes around relationships with surprising tenderness. I just really enjoyed it.

I was expecting to enjoy this book a lot more than I did. As a fan of similar works such as Welcome to Hyunam-Dong Bookshop and What You Are Looking For Is In The Library, I enjoyed the slow, slice of life aspect and community oriented storytelling. However, I felt like within the short book the plot was not overly developed and I didn't enjoy the writing style, which may be due to this translation.
I found the hopefulness of the narrative in the first half and the description of the setting to be soothing and enjoyable. However, it is worth noting that there are some difficult and dark topics covered very directly in the second half and if you are someone avoiding that kind of content, I'd strongly suggest checking the trigger warnings.
Overall I think the narrative wrapped up quite quickly which again may have been due to the shortness of the novel. I do think it was generally good overall and would still consider reading the sequel after this, but it isn't something I would reread soon.
