I liked the wholesomeness of this book and found it a nice change from the usual books I read. It doesn't get a higher rating simply because I'm not sure how much this will stick with me long term the way other novels have. It could be that cozier works are not something I enjoy as wholeheartedly as more intense ones. It was a pleasure to read and well translated.

Translated fiction does suffer a lot due to the loss of prose value, but this continues to be a beautiful, fun read overall. Do I think it's like the peak of literature? No, but I do think it puts you in a setting, makes you think, and creates and substantiates important philosophies on life.
