Trauma, Trauma, Trauma!
I was hoping for more character development for Mo but there wasn’t any! I was not expecting us to get so much of Ethic and Alani and was hoping they were loving their best lives but nope :( that was disappointing. I guess we will see where Butterfly 6 goes!

Morgan is still getting on my nerves. Hopefully she does a lot of growing up in book 6.
It pains me to not write a glowing review for this book, I really wish I could but I can’t. My thoughts about B5:
1. I felt like way too much time was spent on Ethic and Alani
2. The storyline was all over the place and lacked cohesion at times with a bunch irrelevant fluff
3. More unnecessary drama to wreak havoc on our emotions was introduced.
4. Ahmeek is the only character who has had any true growth.
5. The constant mention of the energy between Messiah and Khadeen but did we forget docs drug dealer man from B4? I keep waiting for him to pop back up…maybe in B6

Book 6 needs to be the last book. There was a way to end this series here but…whatever. After a while, you would hope a black author would realize when they are being trauma filled rather than allowing their community to have a happy ending. The happy ending in Ethic book 6 was rushed while the trauma in both of these series is in great detail. WRAP THIS UP ASHLEY!!!!! Amazing story, but this is dragged at this point!!!
