A little gem of a book and probably my favorite so far of the Bad Machinery stories. I really liked the idea of one of our crew (Shauna) fighting to save all the others and solve the mystery on her own. (Although there is some help from a role playing bunch that adds a lot of humor and a bit of pathos.) Mind you, I still hate the format - it's like balancing banana leaves in your hands when you read - but I still love the odd mix of the snark, the innocence, and the supernatural.

This amazing series has humor, depth, originality, appealing characters, and subtle hints of danger. Yes, I know it's a kids series. Yes, I think it's that good.

So many good characters were introduced here! Little Claire and Mrs. Lord, and also the beginnings of Blossom and Tuan as well! And hail to the queen Shauna; if anyone else has been in her position....everyone would be agreeing that Lem was a right good laugh when you get to know him.

I love these comics. I read them all online when they were released, but having each story in one book as a large format comic is really really awesome.
