I was completely taken in by Eleanor’s character and cried when she *spoiler alert* got her cat.

It didn't actually went anywhere with the plot until the second half of the book, and given that it's almost 400 pages it's not a good thing. Also, the fact that the author wrote every little thing that could appear in the main character's mind to an exhaustive lenght is the main reason i'm giving it 2 stars.
It felt that the background story of Eleanor wasn't intriguing enough to justify how slow the pace was, because it was also very apparent what happened.
Overall the story wasn't that good and could definitely have been better developed.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a tear jerking book to start off with. The complexity of understanding someone like Eleanor with her mindset was an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. This story was truly beautiful in capturing the story of a woman who wants to feel wanted and to feel like she has purpose in her life.

From the development of friendships in this novel to her own self discovery, the reader is entranced in a journey of self love and self acceptance. Eleanor unravels the beauty of herself and finds where she fits into the world. At the end of the story discovering that your friends become your chosen family.
