Why for the life of me can I not finish this book? This was my 2nd go at it. And while I loved the writing style and wrote down a few passages in my journal, I can't get past halfway. I'm done...for now. Geesh almighty! What is it with this awesome book that I get stuck not finishing it??!!
Poetic excerpts that I loved:
(concerning the strangeness of her foster father's eyes)...
"They were made of kindness, and silver."
"Brute strength of the man's gentleness..his thereness."
my favorite:
"Somewhere, far down, there was in itch in his heart, but he made it a point not to scratch it. He was afraid of what might come leaking out."
my other favorite:
.."The words were on their way, and when they arrived, Liesel would hold them in her hands like the clouds, and she would wring them out like rain."

I was hooked up right from the beginning till the end . The journey was beautiful. It has it’s moments of joy, sadness and love . I laughed, cried and sometimes awestruck about how someone can write such a beautiful story with such simple writing. This book is undoubtedly there in my most favorite books. Highly recommended
