Yup …  Another heartbreaking, amazing story!

“I made him happy simply by being here … if that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”

I don’t even know how to start putting into words the emotions I felt reading “Fool Me Once” because, y’all that was a rollercoaster. Just, wow. Gemma is a flipping warrior and I wish I could add her to my life for real. I’m so dåm happy she gets the happy ending so many women (and I’m sure a few men) don’t.

And Smith? That hunk of hockey goodness is everything you want in a book boyfriend, probably even a real life man. He’s OTT protective but in the appropriate situations. He can tell when something’s actually wrong, but knows when to push versus when not to.

Gemma’s been through hell and Smith put himself through hell in the past, thinking he was making the right choice when faced with impossible options when they were both just kids. So watching Gemma heal, remembering, becoming, and believing that she's a deserving, beautiful, healthy, whole woman with Smith steadfastly by her side ….?!?

Yup, don't mind me! Just grabbing a few more tissues… 💔❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥 *sobs in bookish* Okay! I'm so dang ready for book 4 and more tears!

Thank you, Ms. Gray, for making me absolutely sob silently at work while listening to this amazing, heart-breaking and heart-mending, beautiful story. (& thank you, #KU assistive reader!) And, of course, the Wordsmith Publicity Team for the opportunity to read and review this book!

All opinions are my own.

I love a second chance because I gave up everything for you trope and this one delivers!

Smith wants to be in the NHL and before he leaves for school her Dad tells him that his daughter, Gemma would be better off if she didn’t follow him so she can follow her own dreams.  He believes her and sabotages their relationship.

Gemma ends up in a relationship with a man that isn’t good to her.  She escapes him and finds herself in the same town as Smith again.  She feels she is broken and doesn’t deserve happiness.

A few years later she shows up at a party and tells everyone she was in a car accident.  Smith doesn’t believe her and regrets ever leaving her behind.

Smith wants to make up for “fool me once” and does everything he can to make it up to her and make her feel whole again.  Her does this and more to her body 🫠🌶️

Another great book by this author.
