Feathermore by Lucy Swing is about Jade a high school student, who has an average life with her best friends, Claire and Nate. She begins hearing strange voices but keeps it a secret. After the arrival of a new gorgeous boy in her school and a sudden tragedy occurs, Jade discovers that there is a lot more to her secret than she ever knew.

Feathermore was a great read! I was hooked from the start and couldn't put my kindle down. The characters were very interesting and likeable. The main character Jade, was realistic in coming to terms with her "secret". The writing and story was refreshing. Feathermore was exciting, interesting and had me giggling a few times! There is a cliffhanger at the end, and I have to point out that cliffhangers can be my biggest book pet peeve. I HATE when books leave you hanging and don't really have a conclusion or not finished. In my opinion, I think authors may do that to make sure you buy their next book. A truly well written book will leave me wanting to read more from the author, not finishing a book makes turns me away and forget about the story. However, the ending to Feathermore didn't upset me, I felt that Lucy wrote the ending as it should be. It was a complete book for me and I can't wait to see what else is in store for Jade.

I recommend Feathermore to young adults and older.

I rate Feathermore 5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks to Lucy Swing, I was given a e-book copy in exchange for an honest review.

started 2hrs ago and @46% and its going well. I really want to know what is going on! I have been a little confused by some jumping around between POV and dreams?? Can't give it away but there is a bit of a flow problem for me in the "something tragic happens to Jade" section.

Finished! Well, that was not what I expected..the ending! Oh em geee..sad, mad, confused, that's me right now!

Job well done Lucy for writing a compelling angel story. It was enjoyable and I need to read book two now because you left us hanging in Feathermore.

There were some problems I had with the story
-Jade and Avan's relationship confused me. It seemed very hot then cold with out any dialogue. The important scene when she asked him the question in the car made no sense to me. If he loved her so much would he have just left the scene after she ran off? I couldn't get behind their relationship because he seemed to do weird things that proved he didn't love her as much as you would have thought and Jade acted immature in dealing with him as well.
- the drawn out explanation of everything at the end was a lot to take in at once. I would have preferred answers to be layed out throughout time instead of all at once.
-Nate and Claire keeping secrets. Again I had a hard time with them keeping so much from Jade

However, with all the above I still read and read and read dying to know the ending and enjoying it!

This is just my opinion! Go get the book and read it for yourself to see what you think and then let me know :)

I absolutely loved this book, I started reading it at 12 o clock at night and didn't put it down until 5 am. And that was only because I had to sleep before going to work! I haven't gotten into the angel books lately, because it's usually not my type of book. Normally they involve religion, which this one did not. I really loved the main character Jade and her best friends Claire and Nate. I felt the storyline kept moving, and very smoothly. I can't wait to read the next book!

I encourage anyone who is planning on reading this to avoid the synopsis. It's misleading and gives hints to the plot. I don't think I'm giving anything way, though, to say that this book is about angels. I've had bad luck in the past with angel books, so I dug into this one with a sense of trepidation. Lucy Swing, however, did a good job at winning me over.
I definitely enjoyed the writing style. It pulled me into the story and brought me right through to the end. It's the kind of style that anyone can relate to.
The characters are another story, though. Our main character is Jade, your average teenage girl, complete with angst. While I was able to relate to her, for the most part, I had a tough time with the supporting characters. Her best friends, Claire and Nate, behave strangely. Obviously there's a good reason for all of it, but it was difficult to understand their friendship without having seen it pre-angel weirdness.
And, unfortunately, I could never get behind the romance with Adan. It was most likely the lack of dialogue that hindered my getting to know his character, or perhaps that he sometimes came across as a bit of a jerk. Hardly someone, in my eyes, worth risking life and limb for.
Religion is not my forte, so I'm a little rusty of the lore of angels. I'm not even sure if added knowledge would have helped, since some of this may be simply Swing's own creative imagination. I do wish that the details had been more scattered throughout the story, instead of being tacked on at the end. Little more show, little less tell. Having said that, I wish I had known less about the villain. She would have been far more terrifying without the couple scenes in her POV.
Despite the flaws with the book, Lucy Swing has done something that a lot of writers have trouble with. She writes the fight scenes with the same passion that she writes the HOT romance scenes. You can tell that she loves what she does, and it imbues a part of her into the story.
