Definitely either a hate or a love book but the meaning behind it really brings the rating up. Pretentious in a way but I think that’s the point.

Above all else, I’d say this book perfectly captures the nature of being human. In every chapter there is something that one can resonate with, even if there are parts of the characters life that don’t reflect your own. A beautiful and profound story that I ended up enjoying a lot more than I thought I would.

When I started this book I worried it might be one of those arch, ironic, cynical books I hate (and in fact, the flap compared it to Sally Rooney's work and it has a blurb from the author of The People I Hate at the Wedding), but it wasn't! It was in fact thoughtful and full of heart.
