An ok book. Couldn’t fully get into it. Predictable

What I Did Like:
+Good twists in the story from delivery. There are things you don’t know all at once, and they’re great for the story when you learn them.
+I actually like the real life being wrapped up in the mystery. It sort of keeps the story feeling typical and normal, reminding you that things that like this story happen all the time. It’s intriguing.
+The characters have depth and are complicated, which is exactly what I wanted. They feel realistic and multi-layered.

Who Should Read This One:
-Fans of more realistic style mystery thrillers will like this one. The way the author brings in the regular stuff just works.

My Rating: 3 Stars
Good book, especially for readers who like a balance of home life in their thrillers.

When Daniel is called to represent Sebastian, just as he did years ago, we all ask the question - did he do it? And then we ask, did he do it before?

Unfortunately, the answer comes through telling, not showing, and while the story is written well, the characters fall flat, and by the time I reached the end, which I felt was extremely rushed, I didn't really care about what was going to happen to anyone. Which is a shame, because the potential here is immense.

I didn't realise this was a sequel, but I got stuck on how little the characters resonated with me and that really affected my reading experience. I'm sure that many will enjoy this though.

Star Rating: 2.5 rounded up

Many thanks to the author, Little Brown Book Group UK and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Why did no one warn me that this book was going to be this good from start to finish a mean I was so hooked with the innocent one, I didn't expect it to have a good story lined plot.
The whole plot kept me going, clue after clue I needed to know if it was going to be a good ending or not but when I got near enough to the end, all I can say is I was not expecting that ending at all.
All of the characters played there parts and wow each one was good for this kind of story.
I recommend this book to be added to your TBR piles as I couldn't stop reading at all.
A mean anyone can be accused of a murder, even a child.

Tip for anyone who sees this: read The Guilty One first! I flew through both of them in about two days.
