This is gunna be the new comic I pick up whenever I want something adorable and light! I love the art and the characters and I just want to see more of this universe.

Goldie Vance is such a charming read that I couldn't hate this volume. The first volume was better iirc. This one just feels too quick. The premise/story is good and- astronauts, scuba diving, ex beauty pageant stars, and mystery are a cool enough concept for my comic-riddled brain. It's mostly nitpicking that drives the volume down, and that's mostly caused by the pacing. Everything happens to quick, person will X and then suddenly Y. Like an arguement/conflict between two characters gets patched up pretty quickly once confronted.
I still did like the dev in Goldie's relationship with Cheryl, they're friends yeah, but they can have their rough spots. And it's not like overblown, it feels natural.

Yeah just weird pacing, but still... scuba diving... Also Diane backstory

Goldie and her best friend are running on the beach when they find an unconscious woman who appears to be an astronaut. After calling for help, Goldie sets out to find out who the young woman is and why she was lying helpless and alone on the sand.

Volume Two was still a strong entry in this series but it didn’t charm me quite as completely as the first collection did. I enjoyed reading more about Goldie’s mom but Goldie herself came across as a bit of an attention-seeker and a brat this time around. It wasn’t enough to completely turn me off but it was a definite vibe that admittedly set the stage for the ultimate conflict.

The art, by Brittney Williams, is still a fun retro pop that I just can’t get enough of.

This series feels like a throwback to some of the best action-y cartoons I grew up with in the ’80s. Goldie and her diverse crew are a delight and I can’t recommend this series highly enough!

This is a cute series for a younger audience with queer representation. The little cases are usually interesting. In this one, I wish the conflict between Goldie and Cheryl showers more of Cheryl explaining her feelings. Instead, lots of the story is others and Goldie speculating why she got upset and that makes Cheryl feel like less of a character.

I really enjoyed this one, it continued on with the same vibe from volume 1.This one was also really good. I think it was really good and diverse as well.
