What I Loved:
🌟 Sutton. She’s eight, she’s hilarious, and she adopts Libby from day one.
🌟 Fisher’s protectiveness—even when he tries to act like he doesn’t care.
🌟 Libby’s pink golf cart Putt Putt. Iconic.
🌟 The found family vibes with the side characters.
🌟 The mix of banter, sweetness, and just enough mystery.
Favorite Scene:
The spider scene—Libby freaks out, Fisher swoops in, and the tension between them is chef’s kiss.
Favorite Moments:
🌟 Sutton making Fisher jealous without even trying.
🌟 Libby and Fisher’s slow burn finally snapping into fire.
🌟 Cameos from other Brittanee & Jenni books (so fun!).
🌟 Every time Fisher communicates with nothing but a grunt.
Why It’s 5 Stars:
Because this book gave me all the summer feelings—funny, swoony, emotional, and impossible to put down. Fisher + Libby + Sutton are the perfect trio, and I didn’t want to leave the island when it ended.
Final Thoughts:
This book feels like sunshine, ocean air, and the best kind of slow burn. If you love grumpy/sunshine, small towns, found family, and a protective MMC, you need this in your summer stack.

This was such a fun summer read. I loved the small town, island feel. I adored Fisher and Libby. They were the perfect grumpy/sunshine couple. Their chemistry was absolute fire. I loved how dedicated Fisher was to his niece, Sutton. Libby developed such a sweet relationship with her too. I found myself getting chills & a little teary eyed at a scene towards the end with Libby & Sutton. Overall, this one was cute!
🎧Audio:🎧
This was a duet narration by Connor Crais & Samantha Brentmoor along with Teddy Hamilton, Avery Caris & Angelina Rocca. I just love a duet narration especially with a full cast. It just makes me feel like I'm watching a movie. This was such a fun audiobook!

ARC READ REVIEW: “Libby is an actress who is running away back to the last place that fell like home. While navigating the small town life of Monhegan, Maine. Feeling like an outsider, yet with such a positive attitude. While Fisher is the island grump with a heart of gold and his sweet niece who’s under his care. Oh My God this book was such a fun read. To be fair Ive read other works of Brit and Jenni, and let me tell you I love the chemistry, angst and storylines of each of these amazing characters. Summer people is the perfect book to read while sipping La’ Croix at the beach or pool side this summer. It grasps your attention by giving you small glimpses of what it all is but NEVER would I have gasped LOUDER than when I finally answered my questions from this book. It’s a happily ever after and absolute well done. Can’t wait to see the others stories
