This book was a delightful surprise. I wasn't expecting a whole lot because I honestly didn't know much about it other than the description interested me well enough. I needed a palate cleanser and was banking on this being a sweet romance. And it was. With a side of undead creatures, compelling action and plot, fresh fantasy, fascinating world-building, a cast of truly lovable characters, and genuine representation.

Can't wait for the next one.

Truly a wonderful book. The world building was done very well, the characters were great, dialogue was witty, and it was somehow also truly touching in a sentimental way. I read it so quickly because it was such a great ride with some adventure too! Love

DID NOT FINISH: 15%
I just didn't like the world despite liking the main characters.  It just seemed all over the place, nothing felt explained enough.  Overall disappointed, the premise sounded like something I would like.  When I didn't want to pick the book back up again that's tells me I am not liking it.
