SpoilerGlass Houses has left me freaking impressed since this is the first book I've read by Rachel Caine. It is about Claire, who is a 16 year old freshman attending a pretty poor college in Morganville. She is constantly being bullied by the wrong kind of people and eventually moves out of her dorm building.

She then moves in the glass house, which is owned by Michael. Eve and Shane are her other roommates but none of them go to her school. They help her with the ins and outs of the town and set a rule that she can't go out of the house when it's dark. WHY? Oh because it isn't safe. WHY? Oh, cause vampires fucking live there that's why.

Then you find out that Michael is actually a ghost and can only be seen at night (fucking mind-blowing by the way). Then there were people who were vampires and I had no idea that they were vampires.

Speaking of things I didn't see coming... that ending. I definitely did not see that coming. Where has Shane's dad been all this god damn time? Why is he torturing Michael? He isn't a god damn vampire.

Oh and Shane and Claire kissed and that made my day. I'm hard core shipping them together so don't ruin it for me people. I need at least one of my damn ships to be together and lately every couple I have rooted for has not happened. AT ALL.

Other than all of the craziness, I really enjoyed this book. It was a pretty quick read and highly entertaining. Especially since I never saw anything coming. But I guess that's what I get when I read a book for free online.

I can't wait for the next book.

I originally read The Morganville Vampires series when I was just a wee little middle schooler. (Which was almost 15 years ago.. I guess I can honestly say I’m getting old.) Back then I followed the books as they were released, but never finished the series due to moving on from what I’ve dubbed my ‘vampire phase.’

With Rachel Caine’s recent passing I found myself feeling very nostalgic for the little I could remember of the series.

I’m so glad I decided to revisit them! This was so much fun! I might actually enjoy it more now then I did then? (My original rating was 3 stars, which I’ve bumped up to 4.) It’s not groundbreaking writing or plotting, but I did genuinely enjoy it and I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

When Claire Danvers moves into the Glass house she does not realise that everything is not as is seems in Morganville. With the help of her roommates Shane, Eve and Michael she will discover that she has more to worry about than the college’s mean girls. I love how Caine gets us to relate to her characters and how they all work together. I cannot pick a favourite as they are all brilliant especially the four roommates. I would recommend Glass Houses to anyone who likes paranormal books with well written characters and storyline.

I loved how the vamps haven't been romanticized and for the Majority they are bad.... Its refreshing to read old school occasionally.... And the concept is brilliant.... I love the characters and really want to try Shane's Chilli ha ha ha.....

I enjoyed reading it. It was a little action packed, a little sweet, and a little mysterious. And it had a cliffhanger ending!
