The first book I ever read. It was so good that I forced myself to learn reading faster and it had a huge impact on my life. I wouldn't be studying what I study now if I hadn't read Silverwing.
5/5 stars. Very good book! Just as good as Darkwing. Characters are super well written and the book was a good pace. Definitely recommend! I will say this book, along with Darkwing, can be pretty violent and he isn't afraid to kill characters off in not so nice ways.
After the incredible journey that was Darkwing, I was so... let down by this! It's a much, much smaller book, and obviously intended for a younger audience, but I was really taken aback by how ridiculous everything was.
Pigeons talking like soldiers, owl ambassadors, rat kingdoms, gods of the underworld... it was just odd in a story that I really just wanted to be a bit more ground in reality. Like Darkwing was!
I dont remember anything about this book from when I was a kid, except for how weird I thought the underworld was. I think that might be in Firewing. I'll continue reading the series and see where it goes. At least it was a quick read! And I did thoroughly enjoy it in parts.

I wish this existed when I was a child. Such a great balance of educational and interesting characterization and plot development.
Silverwing is a great book. I only gave it three stars because I'm not into those books anymore.
