I am always nervous of secret baby but I felt that Poppy and Ace's journey was done well and while their past was messy they stuck around to wade through it all and I love these two together. Ace being older had an interesting dynamic on the story with TK and his relationship, I liked watching that develop. Poppy and TK's chemistry was dripping off the page it was impossible to not love them. The friendships/found family of this series as well keeps getting better as the series goes on. I also think the CTE and other brain related injury talk in this book was SUPER important and done very well in how it was portrayed. Really loving this series
This book was a delight! I really enjoyed TK and Poppy's second chance romance. Their chemistry was off the charts. TK had streaks of arrogance aka my favorite kind of hero. The story was well paced as they figured out what their life meant with Ace. I liked that they prioritized him before approaching their own romance. The whole time, the steam was building. There were a few plot lines that needed a little bit more for me but didn't totally take me out of story. Never thought I would enjoy a football romance but I'll definitely be reading more by this author!
hopeful
lighthearted
Strong character development:
No
Diverse cast of characters:
Yes
Fumbled brings together Poppy and TK Moore, high school sweethearts who went their separate ways - him to lead the NFL as a wide receiver and her to a life as a single mother from an unplanned teen pregnancy (of which TK is the father). Even though I really loved watching TK step into his role as Ace’s dad, it did feel like the romance took the back seat and was an afterthought at times. I never doubted that TK was all in for Poppy & Ace which was very heartwarming to read.
It’s not that I didn’t like the storyline, it’s just that it constantly feels rushed. I feel like I barely knew TK as well and everything just either gets resolved too quickly with barely any info on how it got worked out or it’s just skimmed over.
I really wanted to continue the series but the lack of substance just has me stopping at this one. There’s also so many grammatical errors.

This was so much better than I was expecting and I really loved it. I need more books like this one in my life.
Things I liked:
-Ace
-Brynn (so excited that she's the heroine of Blitzed!)
-discussion of the dangers of football/CTE
-Poppy's confidence/self-assurance
-lack of hashtags (good choice Alexa Martin)
-representation of single-parenthood
-girl power in the female friendships
Things I didn't like:
-TK's machismo
-Sadie and her glitter-who the hell does this in real life? No one.
-Sex scenes (use of somewhat violent language had me uncomfortable)
-will they/won't they drama--it was obvious they were going to and I didn't really care for the flip-flopping

This wasn’t as spicy as the first one but different and honest in its own way.
Intercepted ★★★☆☆
I was so excited to get to Poppy and TK’s story. While it was enjoyable, it didn’t warm my heart like Intercepted.
It felt great to be back in the world surrounding the Mustangs and all of the characters that we got to know. Alexa Martin has a way of writing relatable heroines. Just like Marlee, Poppy was someone that I easily liked and warmed up to. I loved the relationship she had with Ace and loved all of their moments together. We know that I love cute kids in books!
The best part about this book was reading about TK and Ace forming a relationship. Even though these were fictional characters, I promise my feelings were so involved in this father/son relationship. The way the just easily gave their affections? Stab me with a fork because I’m done.
I also enjoyed the friendship between these women. This group of friends really shined and gave me something to love. The jokes and the way that they supported each other was really something wonderful to read about.
Where my issues lied were with some of the choices that these two made and also the lack of romance. Don’t get me wrong, we did get moments between Poppy and TK. I just would have liked more. A big focus of this book is on Poppy’s everyday life and the football aspect. Now don’t be like “Kayla, this is a sports romance” I get that, maybe we just could have seen a bit more romance between our two main characters.
Speaking of our two main characters, communication seemed to be their downfall throughout their history and this book. Some of the issues they had could have been done with completely or at least taken care of earlier if they had just talked it out.
Overall, while I didn’t love this book as much as the first in the series, I still had a good time reading it. Now, I’ve had a girl crush on Brynn this whole time. So seeing that the next book is about my favorite sassy blonde makes me super excited!
