I really enjoyed this. I thought I had the culprit pegged by 2/3 of the way through but I still enjoyed finding out if I was right or not (I was). This is an interesting series with an interesting cast of characters and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

It's been a while since I read the novel this graphic novel is based on, but I'm always interested in seeing this sort of translation - and I really enjoyed this. Harper Connelly seems like a great choice for an adaptation - they are darker than Aurora Teagarden but not as dark as Lily Bard and not as well known/over exposed as The Southern Vampire books.

I think all the main plot points and sub-plot strands from the original Grave Sight were retained - many with a degree of subtlety as well. The art is good - and matches the tone and themes of the story. I'd be happy to read more of these books as graphic novels - even if I have read all of the originals already!

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun. I'm not a huge mystery reader, but I find the main characters, Harper and Tolliver, far more interesting than the mysteries themselves. They're the only characters that seem like they might be real people. However, I happen to really like Harper and her relationship with Tolliver. So, on to the next book

I pretty much hated this book. The characters were annoying, the mystery was awful and predictable and the fact that she suddenly discovers she's in love with her stepbrother, who she refuses to call her stepbrother, is WEIRD. ( I would mark that as a spoiler, but it is painfully obvious).

I initially read this book before I used Goodreads and that is what the rating is from.

7/7-7/8/2024 audiobook

This followed the same formula as the first one (Grave Sight). Psychic detective does the job she's paid to do, the cops find it suspicious, she has to wait around during the investigation, and the author spends a lot of time describing people's clothing (she dresses the main character way too old incidentally lol). I read these books because the Sookie Stackhouse ones are always out of the library but if they are like this, I may not bother to try to get them. It's not that they are bad, they are just kind of formulaic and fluffy - if they wren't library books, i'd read them at the beach for fun.
