That was nice, in a super non-pejorative way. It’s obvious from go where it’s going, but I liked the journey and I’m down with the message (even if spelling it out at the very end felt a bit trite and unnecessary, the book had done the work already, trust yourself, authors) and the ending was a little pop of sweetness that was tender and hopeful and just right. I hope this gets some good buzz, it’s got the ingredients to make it a great book club book, commercial appeal and enough substance to support a good conversation while still being a fast and generally light read.
This was a quick, cute, and fun read. I went into this book with no idea what I was getting myself into, so I was not prepared for the time travel aspect, but I’m glad for that because I ended up really enjoying it.
Jenny Green, the “biggest failure” in history, gets an opportunity to right all of her mistakes and follow her path to success that she was meant for. But is that path the one that leads to her happiness?
This was an interesting take on life’s choices and learning that success does not equal happiness. Most readers will know where this book is headed, but it was a fun, and thought provoking ride to get there.
Overall, I recommend this book. I took off one star because the alternating timelines was a little confusing to follow.

i should stop picking up books i might like just because the idea is cool.
i was intrigued by the concept - you receive a memo that tells you what to do on certain days to maximize your success. too bad neither of the two authors of this book are good at writing a compelling story.
the main character, jenny, is annoying in all regards but not in the fun quirky way you can tolerate. you have your entire destiny laid out in front of you to RECREATE so you don’t end up sad and lonely and broke (again), and yet all you can do is conjure up a random guy that was nice to you, essentially ruining every chance of redemption?? are you kidding me.
the time skips were too large and the writing was too choppy for this to hold any real value. the way it was set up was that jenny didn’t receive the memo, but in actuality she didn’t want the advice of desiree. so she didn’t “miss” anything, she purposely didn’t take her advice.
i mean seriously. TWO published authors? and neither one could figure out a way to make a sensible, cohesive plot that made sense?
i wasted so much time reading this book, hoping it would get better. the only redeeming quality was the writing was so easy to get through, probably because it was just a bunch of words put together to convey absolutely nothing.
