It took me a while to like this book because I felt like it was lacking true dystopian qualities. After finishing it though, I'm excited about the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would when I first started reading it. After the first few chapters I was totally hooked and didn't want to put my kindle down. Can't wait to get started on the next book

as far as YA goes, this book is great. as good as I remember
obviously Tally is pretty childish (she’s 16 and sheltered) and the plot is a bit predictable, but the themes are actually super super interesting and complex
also, it’s a super quick and engaging read
the world is super interesting too… I love a good dystopian moment
the romance between
david and tally
falls a little flat to me though if I’m being honest.
I mean, it feels like they barely interact before they like each other.

I liked it! 3.5 stars, mostly cuz I feel like I've 4 stars too easily and should start being a little more stingy or something.
