Ugh.  This was bad.  This author is terrible at writing women and the ending was both predictable and gross.

Storyline was interesting but predictable. This book was clearly written by a man… very obvious in his portrayal of the FMC.

I really enjoyed this! A good, creepy fall read. Hazel is a private investigator struggling to make a living and pay the bills in NYC until a woman shows up promising her $100,000 to find her goddaughter who went missing from the orphanage on the lake. Hazel dives head first into the opportunity, sussing out the orphanage and the employees, but finds herself in more trouble than she could've imagined.

I really liked the plot line here and I was genuinely shocked by some twists and turns. Recommend!

While this book did have a few twists and turns, the writing is hard to get through. It reads like a high schooler wrote it.
