4/5. Quick and easy read that shows us once again that it’s usually best to keep our friends close and our enemies closer. Also teaches us not to be so quick to write off those who show us time and time again that they belong in our inner circles. As I always say, actions speak louder than words. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because some of the “twists” were seen from a mile away. Liked it enough to add the next book in the series to my Amazon wish list though.
The premise of the book was really great, and I enjoyed it until I got to know the main character more and she was so annoying that I couldn't get past it. Her inner dialogue just grated me to no end. Also since when does seeing a guy three times make him her boyfriend?
This book left me feeling conflicted with my opinion of it… the first half was very slow and frustrating for me. A PI who has no confidence basically and thinks her roommate is obsessed with her and weird. Honestly her roommate sounded more shy or maybe autistic , I didn’t get any signs that he was “obsessed” with her or even really was coming on to her.
It really irritated me that she was so critical and dismissive of him when he seemed to be the only person close to her that truly cared, not to mention (spoiler) he ends up saving her in the end.
The last 20% of the book was good, I enjoyed the twist. I would have liked to have had a better wrap up with Madeline and Cho but it is what it is.
I’m very critical of books so overall it was good, but it wasn’t my favorite. I think the overall rating had me expecting more.

This book was really good! I was thinking it was one character then suddenly I would think it was someone else. The twist had me sitting there for a minute going no freakin way. Well written, suspenseful, and defiantly a nail butting mystery. The count down of days even made me feel like I was under the crunch with Hazel.

I liked the STORY but male authors really need to do some soul-searching before writing FMCs. This author did not.
