Interesting story, although I agree with others that the main character’s action sometimes do not make sense. I found the dialog often stilted.

This was, for the most part, an interesting read. As it got a bit deeper in though, there were a couple of minor continuity issues and it seemed like the author sometimes cares more about convenience than continuity. (Not listing specifics in order to avoid spoilers.)

Character development was weak. I suggest using a developmental editor and/or taking some courses to get help with this. And I suggest either no writing FBI thrillers—where continuity and plausibility are crucial—or using astute beta readers to help pick out continuity issues, before the book goes to press.

I was interested though for most of the book and if it weren’t for these issues, it’d have been excellent.

As it stands, “it’s okay”. 3 stars.

Narrator has a great voice, production is smooth. 4 stars on this front.

Ok I liked the series that came before this but I’m totally second guessing myself now. This book is a travesty. Where to start. Brand new FBI agent sent to another territory and immediately starts telling seasoned agents how to do their job, “This isn’t my first rodeo”. Bitch has been with the FBI less than a week. Then let’s talk about a brand new agent allowed out on their own. So, here I am in a strange town, no one knows where I am, cell phone service non existent; I know! I’ll go to the house of the suspected serial killer! Oh good, she’s home! She totally won’t know I’m stealing something from her yard! Ooops. Many bearings and druggings later it takes us just one hour to recuperate! Then we are allowed to lead the home invasion of the killer! Then we screw up and let the last two people be killed! And we are golden. Nope, done with this. Finding a new series

My first C.M.Sutter novel but won't be my last. Crime thrillers seem to have my utmost attention at present and this first in the jade monroe FBI books is no exception. I only put it down to sleep  it is off and running from page one, I personally only put it down because I was falling asleep, a must read

This book started well and had a kind of Criminal Minds feel to it.

About halfway through Jade then does something stupid, which puts her own life at risk.

Then get to about 90% in, she's been saved, which is great. But knowing that someone else was in danger, she was able to have a shower and eat breakfast before the attempt was made to find that person and save them!!

Not a great read.
