4.25 - the angst, drama and tension in these books is truly unmatched. these books are sooo addicting! in the first book we were just getting introduced to the characters so i didn’t feel super attached to them but in this book i got so invested in all of them and their stories. katharine mcgee has a way of making you feel so many different emotions throughout these books: sadness, frustration, anger, happiness and more. these books definitely don’t have a super deep theme, so i would recommend them if you’re just looking for a good ole time hehe
Inicialmente la califique con 3 estrellas, pero ahora que he tenido tiempo de pensarlo, decidí reducirla a 2 porque concluí que fueron más las cosa que no me gustaron que las que si. Para empezar los sentimientos de todos los personajes (A excepción de Daphne) son efímeros. Todos alegan luchar por lo que sienten y definir quienes son pero en realidad no lo hacen. Aman tanto y tan de pronto que siento que no aman a nadie.
Primero tenemos a Nina que siempre esta definiendo lo que una buena amiga debe ser, siempre está haciendo se la víctima de situaciones que ella misma provoca, ella cree que sus sentimientos son más importante que el de los demás porque claro, ser la mejor amiga de una princesa es lo más difícil por lo que a tenido que pasar. Pero ella nunca se a detenido a pensar que siente su amiga. No se pregunta si le duele que ella la excluya de su vida, no se pregunta si le duele ser un secreto. Y por supuesto no podemos olvidarnos de sus fallidos deseos de alejarse de los medios, sin embargo a la primera de tres siempre encuentra la forma de estar en medio.
Por otro lado tenemos a Samatha la incomprendida que sólo quiere ser algo más que el repuesto de su hermana. La chica que lucha por un amor imposible. A decir verdad samatha era mi favorita es la más normal de todos ellos, esa chica que simplemente deseas ayudar porque si. No obstante calló completamente de mi gracia cuando invadió la privacidad de su hermana y no suficiente con eso tomó atribuciones que no le correspondían.
Daphne en cambio disfruté leerla, ella es la típica persona que sabe lo que quiere y no teme ir por ello. Creció así y no por eso se justifica nada, ella sabe que las cosas que hace están mal, y no le importa ni un poco. Me gustó este personaje porque como lector nunca trata de engañar alegando que es buena cuando sus acciones dicen lo contrario. La verdad si esperaba un castigo para ella, pero bueno no siempre se tiene lo que se merece.
También tenemos a Beatrice de quién no tengo mucho que decir más que entre ella y Jefferson no hay mucha diferencia ya que las personas hacen lo que quieren con relación a ellos y nisiquiera lo notan.
Lo que sí me gustó de este libro fue la inclusión palpable que tenemos , me encanta que hasta en un mundo hipotético las razas y preferencias sexuales siguen siendo un problema, y digo que me encanta por se está hablando de ello y no se tapa con un dedo. En la forma que Majestad lo maneja en ningún momento se siente forzado y eso se aplaude.

this was a good sequel! i really appreciated the character development in Sam and in Beatrice too. it took some time for me to get into this one as there was a lot of shifting in relationships that I was really conflicted about in the beginning but by the end they had grown on me. I am hoping in book three we will see more of Jefferson and hopefully see some growth in him. Daphne is an excellent villain, she’s insane and ruthless; it’s interesting with the multiple point of view writing to be in her head. Overall I enjoyed it!

I think this is my age showing but Beatrice’s storyline is the only one I care about - maybe I’m starting to like Sam’s a little. I think I’ll finish the series because the synopsis of book 4 sounds interesting and I’m really hoping for more Beatrice and Teddy but I have other things I want to read right now. Daphne is the absolute worst - she has zero redeeming qualities and Jeff is an idiot.

That is the reason this book is needed because the first one leaves the reader on quite a cliff hanger. But other than that I didn't need all the backstories with the other characters like Nina but especially Daphne. Daphne was the main source I hated in these books but like I get it. I was supposed to hate her but her chapters came right after a great Beatrice or Samantha chapter and it honestly pissed me off. I gladly would have read this book only following Beatrice or following Beatrice and Samantha only.
The first half of this book also felt really slow and pointless to me. Not much started happening until around the middle when
I enjoyed the idea of this story so much but what really killed it for me was the multiple perspectives. In my opinion, more than two perspectives is too many. But if this is something that doesn't bother you then please ready this book! Overall I really enjoyed the story and the idea so much! I would love it if Katharine McGee wrote a few novella's from just one characters POV after this book! That I'd read!!
