I REALLY wanted to love this. The beginning of the book had such Pirates of the Caribbean vibes and I was really drawn into the world. But as we went on, I never felt connected to the characters or the story. There was a time where there was a big battle, but it was from her POV, and she wasn't in the thick of it, so because of that, we weren't in the thick of it. I'm not sure I'll continue this series.

okay that was fun! i had issues with the writing that idk if anyone else would notice so maybe it’s just a me thing? actually i had issues with a few things but overall i had fun. i definitely ignored a lot. i feel like they became lovers too fast but the thing that made me the most annoyed was the conflict of the whole book (he hates her family and kidnaps her for revenge bc they tortured him) was just a lie??? like what is the purpose??? why are you doing all this for a father you don’t even like?? it just makes nooooo sense?? if you’re gonna make a conflict between characters at least make it real and something they have to work through instead of just “oh yeah i lied oops” THEN WHY DID YOU KIDNAP HER… and when her cousin wants to reveal the fact that he saved his dad and he’s like nooooo don’t tell her!!!!!! ….. why not….. like i get it if he didn’t want him to reveal that her people weren’t the ones who tortured him bc she’s be mad but also…. actually no i do not get it at all….. if you really loved her wouldn’t you want to spare her the pain???? and also why was she just not mad at all????? idk toooo many flaws in the storyline let’s move on why did they bang like not even 2 days after he was stabbed and genuinely on deaths doorstep. he is not in the condition to be doing that like the author just completely forgot about the fact that he was stabbed and had a giant wound??? or maybe he magically healed and i didn’t realize???? mannnn idk i’m still excited for the next book but separation trope can die i hope it doesn’t last too long. also the fan art in the book is goooooorgeous i love it.

I started reading completely blind and with no expectations. It took me by surprise. I enjoyed the storyline and the relationship between Fmc & Mmc. Its a slow burn that you can't wait for. enemies to lovers.

"Hate me all you want, but don’t regret me. Promise me that."

"I am in your hands, I am at your command, for you have made me love you, and you will be my destruction because of it."

Loved loved loved! And the twist at the end... damn! The plot kept me hooked!
