Wood Riddance

“This woman was exceptional in every way. She was brave and kind and more empathetic than I’d ever realized. There was absolutely no way I wasn’t going to spend the rest of my life pining for her.”

Wood Riddance is the fourth and final book in Daphne Elliot’s Lovewell Lumberjack series. This was a bittersweet read, but I loved how Daphne wrapped up the Gagnon siblings’ HEAs. It was wonderful being back in Lovewell, Maine for Adele and Finn’s heated, enemies to lovers romance. Wood Riddance is Romeo and Juliet but add Lumbersnacks, a mischievous moose, and an HEA. If you like a he-falls-first love story, you’ll love Finn; these Lovewell men fall as hard as trees in the forest. Daphne developed Adele & Finn’s relationship beautifully. The way Finn was smitten with Adele’s fiercely independent, brilliant, outspoken personality where other men had been intimidated was everything! Adele would do anything for her brothers and Finn dotes on his daughter. I need my own personal support Viking! I love this blended big family so much. Snarky banter is one of my favorite components of ETL romance and Daphne writes the best! Lovewell wouldn’t be the same without a couple Clive cameos and he was in extraordinary form in Wood Riddance! It was lovely to catch up with all of the Gagnon siblings and their families. Adele is a total badass and Finn is a swoon-worthy book boyfriend. Wood Riddance is a perfectly blended feuding family, forced-proximity, workplace love story with dynamic MCs and steamy romance.

Umm, Finn Herbert … Yes Please! 🥰🥰

I was waiting for Adele Gagnon’s story, and Daphne killed it.  It has everything, banter, emotion, vulnerability, connection and the best sort of heat.

Herberts and Gagnons do not mix, this family rivalry was already strong, but now that they know what Mitch Herbert did the rivalry is insurmountable.  But should the children be held responsible for the crimes of their father?  That is the dilemma that Adele is struggling with.  Finn is a Herbert, but he’s kind, honest, caring oh and insanely hot, and it’s getting harder and harder for Adele to hate him.

This is the last book in the Lovewell Lumberjack series, and we get all the answers we were looking for and a little bit more.  All of the Gagnons have found their HEAs and now it’s the Herbert’s turn in Daphne’s next series The Maine Lumberjacks, so that’s where I’m heading next. Don’t miss out on this series!

As a romance, these are stand alones. With the family business/murder mystery, it’s a little confusing if you haven’t read any of the other books.
