Finn Hebert is a cinnamon roll packaged in a Viking-like lumberjack. I am in love with his and Adele's opposites attract, enemies-to-lovers story. There's a bit of a Romeo and Juliet vibe with the two families (Heberts vs Gagnons) having a longstanding rivalry that I appreciated. We got to see a lot more of the Hebert brothers in this one which sets up the next series nicely (I previously read the first book, Caught in the Axe, and highly recommend jumping to that next). While these are all technically standalones, I definitely suggest reading the first three Lovewell Lumberjacks books first so that you get the full story behind the lumber businesses as its very much woven into this book.

Adele is a strong, stubborn, and complex FMC. Her conflicting feelings for Finn is frustrating as a reader but warranted for the character. I really loved her arc and how she slowly lets Finn in and gives in to their connection. Finn loves to needle her and she gives it right back to him which creates such great tension and banter (highlight for me was their naked axe-throwing game).

For me, Finn's story was what I gravitated towards. I loved how he was both confident in his feelings for Adele but also battled with his insecurities. He's a fiercely protective yet sensitive MMC. His and Adele's chemistry was explosive (that rainstorm scene

I loved this story! I really enjoyed getting to finally meet Adele and how strong of a character she is. And Finn!! I loved him! I really liked getting to learn more about his family and how their relationships worked.

I’ve been excited for Adele and Finn since the end of Wood You Marry Me and they did not disappoint! I’m OBSESSED with them!

I saw a lot of people complaining about how Adele was too strong it was annoying and she was just outright mean. Like too mean. I can see that but this woman has been through some shit so cut her a little slack! Especially since she’s trying to better herself and be more vulnerable and trusting to those around her.

Finn. Oh my sweet Viking Lumberjack. He really went to bat for Adele and just wanted to show her she can have real love and a partner. Ugh. He’s so dreamy. I love that he never gave up on Adele and could see she’d been through a lot and underneath it all just and needed someone she trusted to come home to at the end of the day. I really loved by the end of the book how Adele was working with him more as a team instead of just making her own decisions like she was used to doing as a single woman. I also love how patient he was with her in this knowing it wasn’t something that was going to magically become natural to her overnight.

I really loved this series and I’m sad it’s over but it’s been such a wonderful journey and things wrapped up so nicely for the Gagnon’s

This book was perfect. And so wholesome.

I thought the Gagnon brothers were my favourite Lumbersnacks, but adding one more more from enemy territory, who is described a Viking . . . Well
