Accidentally pregnancy is usually one of my least favourite tropes.
But If there are more out the writte like this, I might just be a convert!
Ive loved Adele since book one! And I've been itching to get my hands on her story, especially considering who the love interest is!
It's another great story with great character building and well written spice!
We did get answers to some of the questions raised throughout this serise, but it's certainly been left open for more connecting stories!
The only real downside for me was that in places it was a little repetitive, but other than that, it's a great book!

I have enjoyed this series and this book instantly became my favourite. This was so beautiful, emotional and swoon worthy, I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry and push and pull between Finn and Adele was amazing, then there was their constant teasing and witty banter. They’re my fave couple of the series.
Adele is still struggling with the loss of her father and can’t let go of the anger or move on like her brothers have. Finding love with Finn was unexpected but just what she needed to forgive herself, heal and find her happy ever after.
Finn had me melting in a damn puddle, he was such an amazing man and dad and the way he never gave up on Adele was beautiful. I loved how he wasn’t afraid of his feelings for her and was constantly open and honest with her. I enjoyed seeing more from the Hebert side of the storyline and learning about them.

Another great one!!! Finn is the most amazing MMC to ever exist ever. This book is 100% golden retriever and black cat and I’m here for it! There were a few things I thought could’ve been trimmed or cut out entirely for the sake of length, but overall a great book!

Ahh this was so freaking good! It was definitely my favourite out all the Lovewell stories. Adele and Finn were so perfect together!!
I loved Finn and how he gave zero f**ks about Adele’s hatred for him. He just kept teasing her and shooting his shot and eventually it paid off! The spicy tension between them was hottt and I loved when it finally exploded.
While it took Adele a long time to cave on her feelings for her delicious Viking lumbersnack she didn’t let that impact her interactions with Finn’s daughter, Merry. Their relationship was adorable and so heartwarming. She was the perfect role model at a time when Merry really needed it. And speaking of Merry, I freaking love that her and her dad were unashamed Swifties! Taylor Swift was a common theme in this book and I loved every mention haha.
It was good to finally wrap up the ongoing investigation of the murder, tampering and drug-running. I never trusted the eventual culprit and I was happy to be proven right! The moment it all came together was a wild chapter.
Part of the reason I enjoyed this series so much is while there is drama in the third act, there’s no third act breakup. The couple stays strong throughout the rest of the drama and it makes for easy reading.
I loved that while the Gagnon’s stories might be finished, Daphne Elliot left plenty of clues that there may be others in Lovewell with stories to tell and I absolutely cannot wait!
I was hooked from start to finish and read it all in one sitting so this is getting five stars from me!

I knew I was going to love the grumpy/sunshine relationship between Adele and Finn, but I was not prepared to feel so many feels. Adele is such a badass and takes no shit. She’s been through a lot and she has some massive walls to protect herself. And Finn seems so goofy and carefree but he’s really an anxious “little” bebe.
And when these two come together
And when these two come together
Unpopular opinion- Adele is awful
Let me start by acknowledging that I read the ending comments by the author and saw that she intentionally wrote Adele the way she did, as she apparently loves angry women. Well she hit that one out of the park if that was her intent. Unfortunately for me, she ruined the book for me. I have enjoyed this lumberjack series and the connecting interwoven underlying storyline, but I found myself throughout the entire book alternating between wanting to quit reading and hoping it would end soon so I could move on to a new release I was looking forward to starting. Ugh.
Adele was suppose to be this bada$$ boss, but unfortunately she just came across as the a$$. There’s a fine line in being this tough persona in a “man’s world” and just being a cold jerk, and she plowed over that like a long time ago without looking back. It made it really hard to like her or feel any sympathy for her battle with the grief over the loss of her father. There was a moment when she had an internal monologue about how people perceived her that gave me hope, but then she just continued being unlikeable. The fact that there are brief moments showing her running her girl crew like a boss and semi mentoring his daughter just didn’t make up for the rest of her behavior or make her somehow more empowered.
What really bothers me is that Finn’s a really great guy. Like, really great. And she is so so so awful. So angry and hateful. She is filled with rage. I get that his father is horrible and did awful things, but HE did not. And even SHE acknowledged that the horrible things happened to her father and her siblings, and somehow SHE is the only one still holding on to the hatred and blaming the rest of the family. It’s tiresome at this point. If the roles were reversed, and the man were treating the woman the way she treats him, there would be outrage. It’s shameful tbh. And he’s like a puppy dog just begging for a chance. If it were the other way around the consensus would be that he’s a toxic dbag and she’s a doormat for coming back for more. Frankly, I couldn’t figure out what he found so attractive about her. She treated him horribly throughout most of the book, and I felt bad for him. He deserved better.
I’m 100% all for finding someone who loves you for you, and not the you that you could be if you changed to fit them. Someone who accepts you for who you are. But this chick has been aggressively angry her entire life. That’s not Boss Bish. She has been unable to maintain any relationships. She had zero friends until her sister in law forced herself into her life. She’s really not even close with her siblings, and throws them death glares. That’s therapy level anger imo, if you can’t even maintain basic interactions. Like come on. I will also point out the pregnancy is played up in then blurb and ads but is not even a thing until way late in the book, and then very minimally. So don’t expect it to be centered around that.
So I gave it 4 stars even though Adele ruined the book. She deserves one star. The reason for the 4 stars is that Finn deserves all the stars. Also, the writing is spot on and other than Adele, I loved the story. This little lumberjack town and Clive the crazy moose definitely reel you in.
