An Epic journey came to an end and it was more than I could ever want.

The river raged as the storm picked up intensity. The ground beneath her feet became slick with mud, making her lose footing. Her body ached and she wasn’t sure she could take one more step, but the ghosts around her urged her forward, pleading with her to restore all balance.

A Sky Beyond the Storm is the fourth book in the Ember in the Ashes series. Following the same cast of characters this fourth installment picks up right where book three ends and brings the series to a conclusion.

All I will say is that this book was the perfect ending to this series and I am so sad that it’s over. I felt so many emotions while reading this finale and I love these characters so much. This series is a must read!

Read if you like:

• High Stakes Fantasy
• Rebellion
• War & Political Intrigue
• Morally Grey Characters
• Multiple POVs
• Romance Subplot

CW: Murder, Physical Violence, War, Death of a Loved One, Grief, Child Death, Slavery.

This one had a slower start and I thought I wouldn’t like it as much, but by the middle I was back to loving the story. The battle was great and I liked the ending. Would recommend the full series.

After the sprawl of books two and three everything came back together for a pretty satisfying ending. While the series has always been violent, this book seemed to have an increase in both brutality and sexual content.

Overall, the series gets 4 stars only because the main characters/pairing (their choices and chemistry) really falls short for me. It was really the plot and the side characters that carried the series.
