This series has been a wild ride with a lot of angst, battle, and death.  This book doesn’t end things *exactly* how I would’ve expected it, but everything concludes in a very satisfying way.  There are just a few plot points at the end that happened so quickly I am not exactly sure what happened, but this whole series has been a very enjoyable ride.  Definitely would recommend it to older teens and adults interested in modern fantasy novels.

A good end to the series, but too much loss/grief of beloved characters. Where is the redemption? Well written, some surprises, definitely worth the read!

I am rating A Reaper at the Gates and A Sky Beyond the Storm together because my ratings would be the same. I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole series and love how the story ended. So much happened in these books and I truly did not know what was going to happen to the MCs. The series is quite dark, very violent and there are some truly evil characters. However there are some important messages in the book, such as the need for groups of people to work together and to not divide ourselves or think in terms of superior/inferior. I love all the MCs but Helen was my queen in the last couple of books. I loved the magic systems in this book and so many Fae influences in the background. I highly recommend this series, it’s the best one I have read in a while.
