Thank you to Valentine PR and Jewel E. Ann for the ARC!
This is the sequel to Sunday Morning as we follow Eve in her story as she sets to make a name for herself rather than being the preacher's daughter. She meets Kyle, her next door neighbor. He's so good looking that she falls for him. Hard. Not to mention, Kyle is a single dad at 28. She's 18. This emotional book will have you reaching for tissues from beginning to end.

This Sunday Morning series is something else! I am absolutely in love with this series and these characters.
Eve is a spitfire and hilarious. Kyle and Eve’s banter is so funny and entertaining.
Kyle and Eve were such a fun but heartbreaking story. If you want to feel an array of emotions read this book! Eve is forced to face trauma and Kyle is also forced to take a leap of faith after being hurt in the past.
Also, Grandma Bonnie is amazing and I loved her involvement in this story.

This book was perfect for my 80’s loving heart. Eve is a very flawed character and I loved the way Jewel wrote her in this book and we got to see her behavior, while immature at times really reflected just her experiences in life. I wanted to give her a big hug. I loved her zest for life and as Kyle said her dream for going for things. This story is emotional, captivating and explore the complexities of love. It is a story of forbidden love and coming of age story. Eve shows tremendous character growth and I hope many will fall in love with Eve as I did reading this book.
“I was wind and fire—destructive and out of control. He was earth and water—a grounding, calm force.”
“She was stubborn and childish, yet sexy as hell, and I ate up her attitude like a bowl of hot buttered popcorn.”

THIS is what romance is all about.
I fell in love with Eve back when I read her sister’s story, so I’ve been counting down the days to finally dive into her book—and wow, it did not disappoint.
I started reading at 8 PM and couldn’t put it down. Sleep? Who needs it when you’ve got a story this good?
This is such a beautiful tale of self-discovery and falling in love. There were so many unforgettable moments—some that had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt, and others that brought tears to my eyes. But every single emotion was worth it.
This author has a way with words that completely hooks you and refuses to let go.
Now, I’ll be (impatiently) waiting for Gaby’s book.
Huge thanks to the author and Valentine PR for the ARC!

This author is EVERYTHING! Her books have so many adorable, heartfelt, and steamy moments. She put her spin on a “Dirty Dancing” story! I love that movie. I can’t tell you the number of times I watched it, and wanted my “Johnny” to sweep me off my feet. Yes I am a child of the 80s!
I want to be Eve. She is funny, and so ready to take on the world. Her parents have my house my rules vibe, and totally don’t see how great she is! They only care about their image. Kyle is sexy and he falls for her because of his son. Little Josh stole the scene every time he’s mentioned. She falls in love with him first. Let me tell you… how their romance was outed… I never seen that one coming. I was holding my breath. After that, I cried my eyes out. Be prepared for tears they will be your companion. The ending though it was perfect!

Small story full of BIG EMOTIONS. If I could climb a skyscraper and scream from the rooftops, till my voice was hoarse, I'd scream for This Book. Jewel has outdone herself. I loved LOVED every word, every sentence, every chapter, every character of the story.
CAPTIVATING, ROMATIC, SPELLBINDING, everything I crave for in a romance book, is in these pages.
I was in a Chokehold of a million different emotions running ragged in my heart. Fresh-nubile heroine, delicious- sexy hero, layers upon layers of sentiments...it was PERFECTION in every sense.
Set in 80s<---- MY DECADE of youth, I felt closer to all that went on with Eve Marie Jacobson, the Pastor's Second daughter. We met eldest Sarah in Sunday Morning
The times of good girls who were proper. You had to have certain moral & social restrictions, conforming to acceptable norms of the society.
Eve is just that. A breath of Fresh air that swirls in gay abandon in the fields.
Uninhibited
Unshackled
Untamed
‘Oh, yeah. Eve loves to fish, stargaze, skip rocks along the water, pick apples and bake pies, dance to good music, go to the movies with friends, and make love in fields of wildflowers.’
A sexy math teacher, Kyle Collins moves in next door with a five year old son in tow. One look at his honed abs & naughty grin and Eve was a goner. He is young at heart, shackled with responsibility. He wants to fly with Eve, but Josh is in his heart, rooting him to reality.
His is the toughest, most heartbreaking dilemma to watch.
Extra witty banter is Jewel's speciality and this is ever present in every scene. It's what it LEADS to, what hides BENEATH it, are real jewels in disguise.
Eve was typical 18 year old. She hated being reminded of her young, impressionable age. Threw pouty tantrums in stubbornness. But like her grandma says.... Being young is like staying inside the lines. It's when you cross over the fence to adulthood, you understand the grass isn't greener by itself. It needs responsible caring. Accountability. Confession. Reflection. Admission.
The journey from wild hearted youth to being an adult is the art of letting go in order to hold on to important things.
The growth chart of characters shot through the graph. Eve had me kneeling at her transformation
“You can walk the line, or you can build a fence along it so they have to stay on their side. And that’s part of growing up."
Bonnie was a voice of hard cold factual reason.
The "TWIST" I did NOT see coming. I was worried how jewel would make their paths merge, but NO WAY did I ever imagine, this would come into being.
Janet and Peter aren't dictatorial, just stuck in their era of dogmatism and orthodoxy. Having been challenged once, they clench thier fist tighter to not have a repeat.
Man proposes; God disposes
“I should have stayed in_______. Nobody judged me there. They just”—I wiped more tears—“listened. Like God—He just listens. And He lets me live my life, love who I want, and learn lessons in my own way. All the while just … silently listening.”
I was left SPEECHLESS!! completely in AWE of her immense talent in bringing UNUSUAL stories to life. EVERY.TIME, I come out changed, wiser, stunned from her books.hats off to you my friend on writing another million star worthy story.

JEWEL HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! I think no matter what I will love every single Jewel book and The Apple Tree is no different.
I LOVE EVE AND JOSH SO MUCH! Yes yes I said what I said 😉 I guess Kyle is cool too but really we know that Josh has stolen the show.
I love everything about this book, usually I’m not one to pick up a single dad book but if Jewel writes it, I’m reading it. So if you are the same as me then PICK THIS ONE UP!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! TRUST!!
And the 80s setting is just *chefs kiss*

Jewel E. Ann can write tropes I hate and make me love them, and she’s done it multiple times! I loved Sunday Morning and was excited when it was confirmed to be a series for each of the sisters, the family dynamics is so interesting to me because of it being the late 1980s and the fact that the preacher is their father. They live in a super restrictive religious household and the parents control the children in different ways.
Eve is the middle child in every way, being rebellious, having fun, and willing to take risks. However we learn she has reasons to be this way, carrying the weight of the family on her shoulders after Sarah left. When Eve becomes Kyles’s babysitter, she quickly falls for her 28 year old single neighbor even when she shouldn’t. He develops feelings for her, but it worried about the age gap, and their society pressure of dating her.
Their feelings are strong, they cannot fight them, but both have demons that prevent them from being honest with each other and themselves. As like Eve I did get annoyed at how much Kyle harped onto her age, but any elder 20s person would have done in their situation so I understand completely why he would, it made him and Eve so relatable in their reactions. But these two man they love each other, and it makes it all worth it for them.
I loved seeing Sarah and her sisters all together again, and I hope we see them again in Gabby’s book!

The Apple Tree (the second book of the Sunday Morning series) follows eighteen year old Eve Jacobson; an impulsive, vivacious, loving young woman who also happens to be the preacher’s daughter. Temptations are tested when Kyle Collins, 10 years older than Eve, and his five year old son move in just across the orchard. The sparks are instant, but Eve feels she must constantly prove that age is just a number.
I have once again fallen in love with Jewel E. Ann’s writing; her take on characters’ emotions is always so well done. She is able to craft a scene, filled with descriptive detail, and leave you feeling a range of emotions…always wanting more!
I must say, the age-gap trope is NOT my thing, but I wanted to put those feelings aside and read this novel because of how much I enjoyed Sunday Morning [this did not affect my rating]. There were a few questionable moments, from Kyle, that made me go “Hmm…”. I was thankful these moments were later discussed in the book as events began to unfold.
Sunday Morning can be read as a stand alone novel, and I absolutely recommend it if you love “small town”, “age gap”, “single father”, and “friends to lovers” books!
