Can’t get enough of this series and book 2 did not disappoint. Eve had a lot going on that she needed to get straightened out and she was a handful for Kyle but he loved her all the same and their love for Josh is so endearing. Her dad is the worst though! Ugh . Can’t wait until book 3

I love Jewel E Ann’s writing. The low stars are simply because of the characters. I don’t think I’ve rooted less for characters to be together than I did Kyle and Eve. Hell, I would have almost preferred Eve end up with Kyle’s friend Adam.

Can’t go wrong with a Jewel Ann book. Sobbed big crocodile tears, this book made me feel all the things. A little slow in the middle, but so worth it.

ARC Review

Eve has always been the rebel child in her family. Drinking, having a secret boyfriend, and constantly pushing the boundaries. She recently graduated high school and is not sure what she wants to do with her life. What she does know is that she wants everyone around her to stop treating her like a child. When her new neighbor, Kyle, and his son move in, she can’t help being drawn to him. She volunteers to babysit Kyle’s son in hopes of getting closer to him.
Kyle is a single dad and the new high school football coach. When he meets Eve, he feels an instant connection. She reminds him of himself at her age. There is no doubt that Kyle is attracted to Eve, but she’s the preacher’s daughter and 10 years younger. He has to think about his son as well.
The more Kyle sees how Eve is with his son the less he is able to resist his growing feelings for her. But with their families and the possibility of ruining their reputations in the town, would being in a relationship be worth the risk? Not to mention Eve’s been hiding a secret that could turns everyone’s lives upside down.

I loved this book! I loved Eve and Kyle’s story! Eve was care free and sweet. There were times where she showed a maturity that was greater than her age and there were times where she acted like an 18 year old. I liked how Kyle felt that Eve brought out a younger version of himself. I liked how protective Kyle was of her. I loved their banter. I was giggling for like the first 60% of the book then the last 40% or so gutted me. I could not stop crying. Learning what caused Eve to use the coping mechanism she did broke my heart. I’m glad that she eventually embraced the help she really needed. Jewel did a wonderful job with Eve and Kyle’s story. I can’t wait to read Gabby’s story!

Whew Jewel E Ann really packs in the emotions in here books. You feel everything these characters feel and she makes you so connected with them.
Kyle a single dad ten years older than Eve. Eve is such a free spirit and really went through the emotional wringer.

Happy Pub Day!!

At first, I wasn't as sold on this book as I was on Sunday Morning (a 5 star read for me), but once we hit the 75% mark... I was blindsided and shocked and hooked! I don't know why I was concerned, because Jewel Ann does not right a bad book.

Read if you like
*Forbidden Romance
*Age Gap (18 and 28)
*Dad's best friends brother
*Recent high school graduate + new high school teacher

This age gap will not be for everyone. I think the point of the age gap was supposed to give you pause, but it was definitely hard for me to wrap my head around at first. Eve was immature and I feel like she could have been 20 and he could have been 28 and the whole uncomfortable age gap would have been less uncomfortable. But, I think that the uncomfortableness of the age gap was part of the point. There are strong religious topics covered in the book, and honestly it kind of reminded me of the Awakening I read multiple times in high school. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I am truly loving any and every book Jewel Ann writes.
