This book was a total surprise for me, loved it!
Sofia Segovia has such a way with words, and the English translation was very good.

Finally, after 3 months, I have finished this book! I felt like I should have been more interested, but even halfway through, I was not particularly invested in the story. It was beautifully written, and the overall story was unique and interesting enough, but I felt like I was just slowly meandering through a story and it took too long for my liking.

One of the most beautiful stories I have read. It's settled within the Mexican Revolution, in the world of land owners and farmers, mixing beautifully the elements of magical realism and "novela telúrica". It's land and magic, were both live in perfectly natural balance, and both offer the frame for a view of deep, unadulterated family love.
