Reading a Batman-v-Joker comic is perfect for April Fools Day. I loved Scott Snyder's Court of Owls run but wasn't sure how I'd feel about him doing a Joker story combined with the extended Batman Family (which I've never been interested in). But this is a good story, a creepy one that continues to burnish Snyder's credentials on this series.
While the rest of the new 52 reboot has been hit and miss (Of the other new 52 titles, I've read [b:Catwoman: The Game|13227873|Catwoman, Vol. 1 The Game|Judd Winick|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1338261049s/13227873.jpg|18419695], [b:Superman: What Price Tomorrow?|13536296|Superman, Vol. 1 What Price Tomorrow?|George Pérez|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1350008161s/13536296.jpg|19098008], and [b:Green Arrow: The Midas Touch|13228175|Green Arrow, Vol. 1 The Midas Touch|Dan Jurgens|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1340153453s/13228175.jpg|18420065]), the quality of the Batman reboot has been stellar.
After [b:Batman, Vol. 2: The City of Owls|15752115|Batman, Vol. 2 The City of Owls|Scott Snyder|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1342309403s/15752115.jpg|21446852] heavily featured the new Court of Owls villains, as well as Tiger Shark, it was nice to see the Rogues Gallery back in full effect with The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face and Penguin all getting face time, as well as a brief but terrifying appearance by Harley Quinn.
But my favorite part of this comic was the finale set at Arkham Asylum, because it was what [b:Batman: Arkham Asylum|22374|Batman Arkham Asylum - A Serious House on Serious Earth|Grant Morrison|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388209338s/22374.jpg|1807553] should have been (That being my all-time least favorite Batman comic, which I previouslyranted about reviewed here).

Wow. Superbly written. You truly got a feel to the degree of insanity the joker has. My favourite part was how the Joker totally ripped Two-face's character. AWESOME.
Creepy af. I enjoyed the *possible?* nod to Sherlock Holmes and the Reichenbach Falls/The Final Problem at the end.
This one might give me serious nightmares tonight, but it will be totally worth it. This was the best so far. I absolutely recommend this series to anyone! Scott Snyder is one of the best plot-line writers I have ever experienced.
This is an awesome Batman story! Really shows you how insane the Joker is!
I have been meaning to dip my toe into the New 52 iteration of The Joker and the de-faced look (flies and all) did not disappoint!
The story is pretty dark too and at times really has you on the edge of your seat. But I always find you rarely get any lasting historical moments nowadays, they will much rather cop-out after big cliffhangers and return to status quo by stories end. That is not to say this wasn’t an incredibly striking take on The Clown Prince and I would give it a very deserved extra 0.5 stars if I could.
But faceless Joker aside, the most interesting points for me are the exploration of Joker’s obsession with Batman and not the man behind the cowl. The psychology of it all will always trump whatever fleeting chaos the Joker has caused.
