I absolutely loved this story. I don't love a third act breakup but I am glad Devney did things differently so that it was there but it wasn't the main focal point. It just breezed by.

Hunter is the perfect guy. I am obsessed with him and he's not even real.......  I love the way he loves Maisy. This book was everything. I was on a massive book hiatus and this was exactly what I needed.

the kidnapping thing was unnecessary

Single mother Maisy Holt is happily content with the life she has created for her son, Cody and herself living in the small town she grew up in. Her business is thriving and her son is loved by her family and friends. Life is perfect, except for her inability to completely move on from her last relationship, with Cody’s father and trauma of that relationship and it’s ending still haunts her and has prevented her from letting herself be vulnerable and open to a new relationship. All that changes when Hunter Faraday walks into her Inn looking for a room. As the two get to know each other and Maisy opens up her home and her heart to Hunter she begins to finally heal from her past, but when it’s finally revealed what secrets Hunter is concealing can she forgive him?

This is the fifth book in the Jamison Valley series, and while you can read it as standalone I would recommend at least reading the first book in the series first before this one to avoid spoiling ending of The Coppersmith Farmhouse. I really enjoyed this one, I have always liked Maisy and her story along the sidelines of the previous four books in the series. A great romantic suspense with some spice added in. I love the small town setting of Prescott, and like with Devney’s other books it was beautiful written and transported you to small town Montana. I loved Maisy and Hunter together. The slow burn suspense simmering in the background was great and it’s what I love most about Devney’s books. I’m excited to read the sixth, and final book of this series soon. Definitely a book, and series of recommend to anyone looking for a small town romance with a side of mystery and suspense.
