We met Maisy Holt in the first book in the Jamison Valley series when she was Gigi’s coworker at the Prescott hospital as a fellow nurse. When that book ended, Maisy chose to leave nursing after the tragedy that happened at the hospital. In the next three books we learn that Maisy has bought the town Inn and she lives with her son Coby.

Now for the Bitterroot Inn, Maisy has focused all of her time and energy not spent with her son on the Bitterroot Inn. She has done serious renovations and it has become her passion/distraction. When a new guest Hunter Faraday comes to stay there she realizes it may be time to date after 3 years.

Hunter Faraday is the new town doctor who is withholding a lot of truths. For a majority of the book we don’t know his true connections to Maisy and her past but when we find out, sheesh! This book had so many twists but I am so happy that Maisy and Colby found their happily ever after!

“Maisy Holt was pure joy. She was goodness personified. She was a beam of sunshine breaking through the clouds in my life.”

I was waiting for Maisy's story because no one deserved a happily ever after as much as she did after the events in The Coppersmith Farmhouse. The Bitterroot Inn takes place just over four years later when Maisy owns the inn and is a single mum to 4-year-old Coby. She meets Hunter when he rents one of her rooms.

I did really enjoy The Bitterroot Inn and anytime with the Holt family is a good time, but I had mixed feelings about Hunter. On one hand, I loved his relationship with Coby and how he instantly bonded with him. I also loved how he supported Maisy. But I didn't love him keeping secrets. I obviously understood why but after everything Maisy had been through she deserved the world, you know? But hey, she got her HEA with a hot dirty-talking doctor so I guess I can't be mad

I had been expecting Maisy's story since the first book so, I was very excited to get to this one. Thankfully I was not disappointed and felt very happy that Maisy found the love of her life! I have to say I didn't expect that little plot twist about Hunter and I was completely shocked but it was incorporated well. The moments between Coby and Hunter were my favourites and that proposal
