A really great read in all honesty. It's silly, but with a cover like this, you have to expect some silliness. I laughed a great deal all the way through, even during moments that were a bit more serious in tone and message were still humorous due to the situation and role swap. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a light, funny read. It isn't overly text-heavy, and the illustrations are brightly colored with crisp, thick line art. It is just as great visually as it is to read

'Manfried the Man' by Caitlin Major with art by Kelly Bastow is a graphic novel about cats and men trading places.

In this world, cats are human sized and walk on two legs. Men are naked and as small as the house cats we know and also walk on two legs. Steve Catson is proud of his man, Manfried, but the other cats he knows think he might be a bit overobsessed. One day, Manfried goes missing, and Steve must rally friends and strangers to help him find his missing man.

I don't know that I would describe this story as hilarious, but it's fun in an odd ironic way. I like the strange touches, like the pet men eating cheeseburgers and fries, or that the men have markings a bit like cats. The art was fun.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Quirk Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

What a delightful find. This came in through the bookdrop at my library and as soon as I saw the cover, I was hooked. A world in which men are cat-sized pets who greet each other with handshakes instead of sniffs and can only utter different intonations of "hey" is absolutely hilarious. Their kibble is french fries. Their playtime is lifting weights. There are man shelters and stray men in alleys (ok, maybe the idea is not that farfetched 😬). I was laughing the whole way through and can't wait to see what Manfried gets up to next.

The gimmick doesn't really work and the plot is one cliche after another.

A really adorable story about a world where cats have men as pets. Was recommended to me by some awesome coworkers and totally glad to have read it. The drawings are adorable, and the characters are spot on.
