I LOVED Butterflies & Vicious Lies so much!!! Soooooo much. 5 stars. It was perfect! The perfect amount of bully, a strong FMC but she was weak when I wanted her to be. Lol.
Friends to enemies to lovers, Secrets, anger, love!! So many goodies!! I need the physical book copy now. I’m going to miss Raff and Posie so very much! I’m assuming there will be more books for the other characters which I can’t wait for.

INFINITY STARS, 3.5 chili peppers
Literal perfection in a book!! Tragic, beautiful, SO FUCKING HOT, heartfelt, and every single emotion in between.

Rafferty is a man who has spent the last 6 years of his life planning for when he would get his revenge on the woman he is certain made his whole world crumble around him. Posie left right as it happened, and has been gone ever since... but thanks to his connections ,money, and power, he has pulled all the strings necessary to get her back into town where he is waiting for her - with a plan to make her pay for everything that happened when they were teenagers.
However, he doesn't anticipate the way she reacts - both taking what he throws at her and also pushing back in ways he didn't expect.

This book is trauma filled, about people who were handed cards they never should have been dealt and they are filled with the pain that came from that - so check your TW, know that this book deals with hard topics and heavy shit. But also know that I do not think another book has made me feel as much as this one or been as beautifully written!

When I say this is truly one of the best books I've ever read, I am not lying. Out of over 360 books in the last 1.5 years, this one is probably my new #1. Kayleigh writes in a way you cannot put it down until you finish the last sentence. You feeeeel every emotion right alongside the characters, and truly I dont know if I have rooted for people as much as I did for Rafferty and Posie.

What to expect:
-friends to lovers to enemies to lovers
-bully/revenge
-possessive/OTT alphahole
-out of the world SPICEEEEEE
-trauma filled souls who just need each other to heal
-strong FMC who loves those in her life fiercely

THANK YOU Kayleigh King for the ARC but even more so for this book and the characters I am now obsessed with!!!

This book is a lot darker than I normally read, but it was very well written. These characters have all suffered from deep traumas and their stories were painful and heartbreaking, but ultimately had a good ending.

Kayleigh King's best writing to date. Emotionally immersive, complex, raw and emotional- this is a story about a complicated and unbreakable love, the tenacity of the human spirit, the grounding that is the human heart's capacity to love, and second chances that are hard fought but worth the battle. And battle they do- this is not an easy love story, it's heart wrenching and devastating in places, but at it's core is optimism and home. Hope that our hearts will find its way to the one it belongs to, hope that we'll find something beautiful within our own brokenness. Within the darkness that dwells in us all. And that's just what Rafferty and Posie do- the chemistry, the tension, the young love drama! The emotional energy vibrates off the pages, the push-pull, the fine line between longing and toxicity, love and hate. It makes for a volatile and tangled romance, but one that is all about love in the end. One about selflessness, unconditional love, and sacrifice...a story about the hardest part of truly loving someone: forgiveness. But what an epic love they have- even if you'll shattered long the way. It's a love that only they can share, a love only they can find. A love that is truly their own.

I finished this a few nights ago. It was amazingly awesome to read. This book was everything that I was hoping it would be. You know you have found a fantastic author when they can make you feel what the characters are feeling at the moment. I don’t know how many different theories I had come up with while reading, and they all were wrong in the end. I should have seen the ending coming, but the way Kayleigh writes, you become invested in the story. You never saw what was coming. If I could give this more than five butterflies, I would. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Gahhh, I loved this book. I was slow to get into it at first, but I apparently have a big ole soft spot for lovers to enemies to lovers. The was the story was written kept me flipping pages and needing more. Though I did guess the plot twists- it didn’t take away from my enjoyment.

Posie and Raff were just a tad bit toxic
