The first half of this book was incredibly rough and the writing seemed juvenile and inexperienced. I was looking for an easy to read, cheesy, Christmas romance for the holidays. Which, definitely turned into that during the second half.
Kira’s growth definitely ebbed and flowed throughout the book and seemed to fast track after a while, which I guess makes sense because of the length of the book. I don’t know if it’s where I am in my cycle, but I found myself welling up at certain points closer to the end because I’ve felt how Kira has felt at certain points in my life.
I have someone long term in my life who at times I thought would be better off without me, but every time, he refuses the idea and clings onto us stronger than before. Without this personal attachment, I can’t say for certain if I would like this book as much as I do.
I have read many romance novels so I can’t discriminate against this book for indulging in many common tropes, which in general, were done decently well.

Yet another cute and spicy book from Laurie Gilmore. I enjoyed Kira and Bennett just as much as the other couples that we’ve met so far!
