this saga is soooo good !! i can’t wait for the next book to be translated to know what will happen to the twins. the romance was not very present in this book and the thing between Alarik and Wren made me so mad, i don’t want them together

I'm still loving this series as I continue through it. Parts of this one made me so sad, but aspects of the characters also drove me nuts. I'm rating it slightly lower than the first because Rose's uppity characteristics are grating, Wren made dumb ass decisions and Shen was a dick more than once. I still love them, but I hope they get their crap together. Also, hello unexpected love triangle.

I just feel like this wasn’t as good as the last one. Some of Rose’s POVs felt way too slow and I ended up skimming some of them. The beginning was also slow and not really engaging. The only parts I enjoyed were Wren’s POVs.
I did mention in my review for Twin Crowns that I didn’t like Rose’s character and I prefer Wren and she remained pretty somewhat the same as in the last book.
I also liked the addition of Alarik’s character and development into the story but the chemistry he had with Wren needed more time and hints and it started far too late in the story. Tor also became a background character and I found him not interesting anymore, just no chemistry with Wren anymore. I hope Alarik and Wren have more moments in the next book.
And finally, I love the message weaved into Wren’s side of the story: how as much as you love someone and they die, you can’t bring them back to life, you have to let them go. That was meaningful.

Ok im done shouting now. But that little twist with Alaric and Wren could be so great in the next book.
The story was a little long, but I didn’t mind.
I read the audiobook and the narrator for Wren sounds like she’s talking with her nose plugged and it slightly irks me.
