4.5 stars. I'm a huge fan of Liz and Lisa's books, and loved that they moved into the suspense/thriller genre with The Good Widow last year--it was one of my favorites of 2017. I was so excited to read Girls' Night Out. The story did start out a bit slow for me but once I was hooked I couldn't stop. The book rotated time and perspectives, but was well done and not confusing. The chapters switched between the morning after they discovered Ashley was missing, then back to the beginning of the trip, and so on until the night she went missing, each chapter giving you a few more clues and details about the girls' strained relationships. These ladies had some pretty serious issues, and these issues come out in full force throughout the book. There were some pretty shocking endings to chapters that definitely keep you reading all the way to the end. I won't give any spoilers here--I have more to say but can't say without giving away the ending! The suspense of finding out what really happened takes you all the way up to the very end.
The setting--Tulum, in Mexico--is vividly described in the book. I could almost taste the margaritas and hear the waves. I wanted to be reading this one on the beach!
Liz and Lisa, lifelong best friends themselves, are an amazing writing team. I can't imagine the difficulty of writing a book with another person--blending your writing styles, making everything flow--and they do it with ease. I highly recommend all their books, but their most recent efforts have been their best. I think I liked The Good Widow a little more but only because it was set in Maui, and I absolutely love Hawaii--but both books are fantastic. Definitely add Girls' Night out to your late summer TBR!

A good thriller about 3 friends who go to Mexico to reconnect when one disappears. One can’t remember a thing from the night of the disappearance and the other was up to her own thing. Told in alternating perspectives and before and after, the story slowly unravels. I thought this was a fun read. Didn’t get much hype but just as good as many of the other thrillers out there.
I love me some toxic friendships, and boy this was just that. If you also love that trope in books this book is for you. Honestly the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the ending. Like I feel like there was so much buildup and the end just let me down hence the 4 stars.

The book started with an interesting premise, but it slowly went downhill as the story went on. I felt the ending was a huge copout and it left me feeling unfulfilled and disappointed.

The brilliant duo of Fenton and Steinke bring us a suspenseful work of psychological intrigue about three ladies attempting to reconnect after events that lead to division in the group; division which caused deep wounds that have gone unhealed.
Ashley, Lauren and Natalie head to picturesque Tulum, Mexico to reconnect but while there get much more than they anticipated. I enjoyed that the story unfolded from each person's differing perspectives while offering insight into past and present events (and intentions); events that had the potential to lead to danger.
Halfway through I thought I had it all figured out. Nope! There are twists and turns that lead away from the normal course but that leave you wanting more. I absolutely LOVED this read. It was exciting, unpredictable and filled with the scaffolding of suspense.
I received an advanced review copy (ARC) of this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really enjoyed Girls’ Night Out and flew through its 360+ pages, which amazed me. Told from the perspective of 3 long time best friends who have lost their way through their 20 year friendship in the wake of recent big life changes, and who have all come together in Tulum, Mexico to try and patch things up in paradise! But when it becomes clear their efforts may be in vain and one of the friends turns up missing on the last day of their vacation things get interesting, quickly. Alternating between pre and post disappearance perspectives, Girls’ Night Out had me on my toes and suspecting everyone 🕵🏻♀️ The ending snuck up on me too! With not only a whodunnit to solve, but realistic (and actually adult) female friendship issues as well, these pages flew by and I couldn’t read fast enough.
I’d say this is a perfect vacation (real or mental) read and an addicting, page turning mystery that will hook you right away and keep you up late racing to the end!

What a fantastic book by two amazing authors! This book keeps you guessing until the very end.
This book reminded me of a Good Housewives vacation gone wrong. Three women, who are struggling with their friendship take a trip to Mexico in hopes that they can salvage whats left of their relationships. But when they wake up on the day they are set to leave with one of the friends missing they have to to confront those past mistakes and question what really happened.
