Extremely boring, writing was not good, smut was bad, really generic and cookie-cutter new adult fantasy that felt like it was reaching for tiktok virality over actual quality. Emilia and wrath are freaks (derogatory). And this is coming from someone who has previously liked this author's work and really wanted to like these books.

This book was deeply disappointing. I gave the first two books in the series 4 stars and waited by the window all day for the finale to be delivered. But this was not good at all.

The plot made absolutely no sense. It felt like the author was grasping at straws and then frantically trying to make it make sense, but it just didn’t match up to the plot laid out in the first two books.

The characters were completely different. Emilia apparently had a personality transplant while Wrath had the personality of a vanilla wafer.

And the sex…I saw a review from a young teenager saying they were completely caught off guard by the explicit nature of this book. I agree- you shouldn’t go from cute romance in the first two books to extremely sexualized in the last book without a warning label, especially when you have young readers in your audience. This is marketed as young adult but it’s definitely more NA/Adult…or whatever 50 Shades of Grey is!

Here’s my warning label to you: BEWARE, this book is the most disappointing series finale I’ve read in a long time.

★- 3.5 stars!
there is a spoiler section at the end!

"Tell me now. That I’m your favorite sin."

°˖➴ my thoughts!
not me finishing this series in less than a week🤭 this book deserves a lower rating, but i'm giving it 3.5 stars rounded up only for the entertainment factor. the plot was all over the place and hard to follow, and even the ending didn't quite satisfy me. i got into this series thinking it would be ya but apparently only the first book is, i don't necessarily hate smut but there was too much of it, to the point where it got me out of the story. wrath was the highlight of the series, i said what i said.

"And he is her fate. As she is his. ‘As above, so below.’ They are the balance. Light and dark. One fallen from above, and one created in the underworld below."

°˖➴ spoilers ahead!
WRATH AND EMILIA ARE LOVERS WHO WERE CURSED TO FORGET EACH OTHER AND HAVE FOUND THEIR WAY BACK AFTER EVERYTHING. this storyline had so much potential, but the author decided to add unnecessary smut. we got more spice than romantic stuff:/ also, the ending was underwhelming, vittoria should've remained a villain. everything fell into place a little too conveniently, she randomly became good again and stopped causing trouble. also, the vesta storyline was unnecessary, it didn't add anything to the story.

"Rise. Just as they always feared you would"

emilia finally stopped being clueless and helpless and became the goddess of fury, but guess what?? SHE HAD TO GIVE UP HER POWERS, like cmon she just got them back. ISTG I WAS SO MAD. they could never make me like this trope. because of the curse wrath had to suppress his love for emilia, but i don’t feel as though it was suppressed at all? the only thing that changed was that he could say "i love you", but he showed it in any way possible so i feel like it wasn't a big deal😭
