At first, I thought it'd be a bit boring since the book mostly filled with Anne's letters to Gilbert. Yea. That means no actual conversation with him. And there was only a scene about him, and that wasn't enough. Well, I expect the next book will be full of him.

Anne is being a teacher for 3 years in Summerside. She lives in a tower room in Windy Poplars, has problems with Pringles (most of the residents there are Pringles), has a disagreeable colleague, has a lovely poor little neighbor who is just as imaginative as a young Anne.

And it's not Anne, if she doesn't poke her nose on other people business. The outcome are varied, and some are quite surprising.

The characters are lovely, even Rebecca Dew with her 'this is the last straw!' or Miss Minerva Tomgallon with her family curse. I love the ending, it's kinda touchy, one that makes you smile through tears. One that makes you believe, life is beautiful when spent with the right people.

Farewell is never easy. Though it's a new beginning for some, it still is an end for other. I'll miss them. And once more I have to witness how charming and radiant Anne is. Oh how could the world rotates around her!

In my quest to finally read all of the Anne books, I have ventured past book 3 for the first time. I love this book. Funny adventures, a hint of romance, none of Anne being super dumb that made the last book somewhat annoying to me. I'm very excited to read the last half of the series.

3 stars. This wasn’t my favorite. There just wasn’t enough of Anne for me. It follows a bunch of new character that I didn’t have any connection too. I just want Anne and Gilbert. I still enjoy this series and this wasn’t a terrible book in the slightest but I really miss following Anne’s adventures and I hope the series gets back to that soon.

I was surprised that it was mainly epistolary in nature but I quite enjoyed it.  Seeing the world through Anne's eyes is always a joy.
