Anne på egne ben

Least favorite of the Anne books. It is epistolary and Anne has kinda lost her sense of fun and self in this one. I think it comes back, but this reminds me of the ‘further tales of Avonlea’ or the other books of stories about other PEI folk that I’m not super interested in. So, love LM, love Anne, love the series, but this one is not picked up as often as the others.

Another delightful installment in the series.

Four books in and you'd think I'd get tired of Anne's little adventures/side quests with the many characters she comes across. But still, I managed to find some enjoyment from them (although I could've done without a few).

“The Woman had told her that Tomorrow never comes, but Elizabeth knows better. It will come sometime. Some beautiful morning she will just wake up and find it is Tomorrow. Not Today but Tomorrow. And then things will happen…wonderful things.”

Finally, Tomorrow has come! I was pretty disappointed with book 3 of [b: Anne of Green Gables Series|25601928|The Anne of Green Gables Series (Annotated)|L.M. However, [a: L.M. Montgomery|5350|L.M. Montgomery|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1188896723p2/5350.jpg] proved me wrong this time and bring the same imaginative, energetic, loving, enthusiastic Anne back!

At some point, this book has the same patterns as the very first installment of this series.

Anne has the same romanticism about Windy Willows, wons the Prickly Pringles hearts after overcoming a surmountable challenge and meets a happy ending!

Oh, how mature Anne has become and still behold her wilderness deep inside her heart. She looks at even the grouchiest, bitterest, meanest people and tries to find something likable about them, and find a way to help them stop being so bitter and grouchy and see the beauty of the world. And how hopelessly romantic she is! “Gilbert, I'm afraid I'm scandalously in love with you.”

I really missed Diana Barry in this book. Why things have to change because we grow up?? Isn't it just unfair?? Life wasn't supposed to be like this, you know!

Once Katherine said;

"Life owes me something more than it has paid me, and I’m going out to collect it."

Oh, how true her saying is!

Awful.

Anne Shirley is such a dear friend by now. I cherished every adventure and letter to Gilbert.

En hirveest tykänny täst. Ainaki jos vertaa muihin Anna-kirjoihin.
Tosi paljon uusii hahmoi tuli, ja ei pysyny oikein kärryillä. Toistu myös liian samanlainen kaava koko kirjan.

5/10

The last two books of Anne were my least favorite. I always wonder how the author of Anne of Green Gables (the first book) wrote these two.
Anne is changed sooo muccch, the people around her are not good and lovely as Marilla and Matthew and I know everybody loves this...
So, probably it just me
This was a buddy read with Carolyn, Leeanne, and Kerri, and they loved this, and I enjoyed reading with them more than reading this book!
