I like how this book ends with Anne being like "Can't believe there was ever a time when I didn't get along with Katherine Brooke and the Pringles, I love all those guys now!" When Katherine Brooke was just suffering from Shit Life Syndrome and needed a friend while the Pringles were a bunch of privileged bitchass haters in desperate need of humbling. WE ARE NOT THE SAME

(also this audiobook narrator does a pretty good job. Pronounced "gallant" two different ways at two different times, but otherwise nailed it. I loved her Katherine Brooke and Rebecca Dew voices.)

So cute love Anne and Gilbert , wish there was less letters and they didn’t cut out the cute love letters 😞

Anne spends 3 years as the Principal of Summerside and we learn of all the goings-on in her life through the letters she writes to her fiance, Gilbert.[return][return]As I've discovered, all things "Anne" really do work out for the best and no situation - regardless of how bad it seems at first, will eventually work out. To that end, I find myself questioning why I continue to read these books. Why do I find them so entertaining? They are so "polyanna" that there is little in the way of true drama because everything does come up roses.[return][return]The only answer I have is that I have grown quite fond of the character. She is a dreamer, a believer of fantasy and imagination, and someone who always looks to the positives of life. These are all things that are quite dear to me as well. On top of that, I have to admit that we are introduced to a large array of characters each with their own little quirks that makes them "real" and interesting to read.[return][return]I've often remarked that reading these "Anne" books was like catching up with an old friend. The format of this particular novel is very much like that. A comforting read.

Usually I can't stand reading books written in letter form, but this actually was sorta fun! I loved the characters that were in this book! They were so crazy! I grew up with the movies so when I read the books it took a little while for me to get use to them...but I did and now I LOVE them!!!
